Recommendation 2311-1: Due to reports from the city that the benches are unsafe and cannot be repaired, Ventura Village supports the Park Board removal of the seating area and the archway at the southwest corner of Franklin and Chicago Avenues.

Recommendation 2311-2: Move to send a letter to Becky Alper asking what the Park Board is going to do to get the field at Peavey Park back in use.

If you wish to run for the board or know someone interested, please notify us of the nomination by sending us an email, postal mail, or by sending us a message through our website. Nominations received after the 29th or in person at the meeting in December will be up for election in January.

Motion: (Morales/R. Peterson) To approve the agenda for the July 12, 2023 meeting. Passed

Motion: (R. Peterson/Morales) To approve the minutes for the June 14, 2023 meeting. Passed

Motion: (R. Peterson/Dreyer) Recommendation 2307-1: Ventura Village submits the following summary of concerns titled “Ventura Village concerns regarding the proposed Native American Community Clinic proposed development project.” Amended to read: Ventura Village submits to NACC the following summary of concerns titled “Ventura Village concerns regarding the proposed Native American Community Clinic proposed development project” and we request for NACC to provide Ventura Village with a response to our concerns. Also removing the second sentence under building design and adding “We would like the City of Minneapolis to conduct a traffic study of East 21st Street that would evaluate the impact of adding traffic from the proposed development as well as traffic from the Aldi grocery store onto East 21st Street.” Passed
