If you read our page in the June Alley, you will have seen brief mention of Minneapolis rewriting its zoning ordinances as part of its 2040 plan. Attached is our motion passed at our May General Membership meeting detailing problems we see with the plan. We invite comments, and please let the city know what you think of their plan.
The class is designed to provide everything a new gardener would need to start gardening: seed starting materials, gardening tools, an informational booklet, and of course in person instruction. Participants will be taken through the first two months of starting a garden. The only requirement is that participants have access to space to grow outside – this could be anything from a large sunny backyard to a small shady balcony to a plot in a community garden. Other than starting seeds indoors, growing plants indoors will not be under the scope of this class. Classes will be held on the following dates from 5:30-7pm: March 22nd, April 5th, April 19th, May 3rd, May 17th, and May 31st. The class will be held at the Waite House. Reach out to Louis at louis.s@natifs.org for more information.
